Let your little ones run wild this half term on the ultimate family day out. Families can learn about both the amazing animals they have on show and the prehistoric beasts which used to roam this earth, with Paradise's World of Dinosaurs.
This half term, St Albans Museum + Gallery have plenty to offer to keep families entertained and learning. On the 22nd of May St Albans have a miniature scale of the first battle of St Albans on display, as well as their museum minis exhibition tailored to younger children to help them stay learning in a fun way through the half term.
The hilarious and wonderful Jellyfish Theatre present, The Wagon of Dreams. A joyful, interactive theatre show set in a real transforming caravan! The Wagon of Dreams was created in response to the Covid-19 pandemic as a way to bring live performance safely back to families. Jellyfish Theatre are now entering their second season of touring this amazing outdoor theatre show.
Shows are suitable for ages 3-8 years (but adults will also enjoy the show!) and will run for 55 minutes. Tickets include day entry to Standalone Farm (10am-5pm).
Aldenham country park is a 100 acre wood which children will love exploring. With a farm with lambs to feed, cows and pigs to meet, cabins and glamping experiences to try, we're sure there's something for the whole family to enjoy here.

Over 40 years old, this miniature railway is sure to be fun for children and grown ups alike! With different locomotives to ride, you're sure to be wanting to go back. The miniature railway is open most weekends and open during some school holidays but it is best to check their website for opening times.
The Hertford Museum is sure to interest your older children who want to know more about the place they call home. Along with exhibits exploring the history of Hertford, there are also a few exhibits on over the May half term.
Until the 12th of June, you can learn how Hertford’s four rivers have shaped and developed how generations of people lived, worked and played. On the 28th of May, their "Fabulous 50s" event will be on at the museum allowing you to see what life was like in Hertford 70 years ago.
Hatfield House was built in 1611 and has many things to explore from the house to the gardens to the stable and coach house. Hatfield House opens to the public on the 19th of May. Hatfield offers many events, so make sure to check their website for all things family fun!

Both children and adults alike are sure to enjoy exploring the Tudor halls of Knebworth House. Children will enjoy the "Dino Trail" a prehistoric exhibition located in the gardens as well as the adventure playgrounds. Older children and adults can enjoy and appreciate the history found inside and out of Knebworth House as well as the Watchman's Tower.
Knebworth also have some exhibitions on show presenting their rock history and the famous artists who have performed there such as Queen and The Rolling Stones. Their other exhibition shows the films they have been featured in such as Batman and The Crown.
