Escape the city and visit Hertfordshire this summer

This summer, why not escape the heat of the big city and head to magical Hertfordshire (or Herts as we like to call it) for fresh air, fun-filled attractions and acres of gorgeous scenery - just 20 minutes from central London!

Hertfordshire is brimming with fantastic things to see and do, so you are sure to discover something wonderful on your visit whatever your age! Your day out in Hertfordshire could see you exploring stunning stately homes such as Knebworth House and Gardens, with its glorious rock'n'roll history and glorious grounds. Or enjoying a cultural break at the Henry Moore Studios and Gardens and wander among enormous bronze sculptures created by one of England's greatest artists. And the beautiful city of St Albans is brimming with great shops, food and drink outlets, historic sites and - of course - the breathtaking St Albans Cathedral.

Hertfordshire is perfect for family days out, with a huge range of incredible attractions only a short train ride from London that won't break the bank. Willows Activity Farm will let you and your little ones get in touch with nature, with dozens of cute animals to pet and a huge play park to explore. If you're feeling brave, then Vertigo adventures will test your nerves as your explore a network of high and low rope challenges in the great outdoors. And if you simply want to embrace your wild side, head over to Paradise Wildlife Park to see lions, tigers, penguins, wolves, meerkats, moneys and many more beautiful beasts!
