Harpenden Christmas Carnival

24th November 2019

Harpenden Town Council’s annual Harpenden Christmas Carnival is taking place this year is gracing us all with it's presence this November; with festivities stretching from Church Green all the way to the Harpenden Fire Station!

Harpenden Town Council’s annual Harpenden Christmas Carnival is taking place this year is gracing us all with it's presence this November; with festivities stretching from Church Green all the way to the Harpenden Fire Station!

Even more events & activities will be introduced to the Carnival this year after an expansion; formerly stopping near Pizza Express, the event will now extend to the Harpenden Fire Station. A mini stage will host entertainers throughout the day, and a second bar area, bookable Christmas workshops, and Peter Templeman’s outdoor wooden games will all make their Christmas Carnival debut this year. In addition, St Albans and Harpenden Volunteer Police Cadets and Harpenden Fire Station will be hosting their first-ever Christmas Emergency Services Open Day, while The Harpenden Collective is curating a Boutique Christmas Market in Park Hall.

And of course, all of the Carnival favourites will be returning: Santa will be greeting children at his Santa’s Grotto; the Procession will kick off at 3 pm; Imajica Theatre, Showtime Circus, Harpenden Panto, and more will be performing on the Main Stage; and the town Christmas lights will be switched on by the Town Mayor at 5 pm. The Farmers’ Market, funfair, and Young Enterprise stalls will all be situated throughout the high street, and many businesses in the Town Centre will keep their doors open specially to give residents a chance to start on their Christmas shopping.
