Nature & Wildlife

Bird watchers, nature lovers and friends and families will be able to get up close to the glorious wildlife and habitats found in the Lee Valley at the Wildlife Discovery Centre.

Set overlooking Seventy Acres Lake, the new centre will be one of the best places in the country to see wintering Bittern, a member of the Heron family that returns to overwinter in the valley’s reedbeds, alongside other species including Common Tern, Kingfisher and Dragonflies.

The venue will offer far-reaching, 360 degree views of the surrounding area from a five metre viewing tower where visitors can look out across the mosaic of lakes and countryside.

From here they will also observe the bespoke wetland and grassland habitat ‘living’ roofs; which will be abuzz with wildlife throughout the year.
