Funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, Elstree & Borehamwood Museum and members of the “First Impressions” alliance, museum volunteers have celebrated the 150th anniversary of the arrival of our rail service by recreating a railway station inside Elstree & Borehamwood museum.
The exhibition displays photos and railway memorabilia, together with a replica steam train cab with fun interactives and a selection of dressing up clothes. The exhibition enables visitors to discover how the railway changed our town. Without it, our world-famous film studios would never have settled here in 1914. Expansion of the rail service continues to drive the town’s development.
Visitors of all ages have enjoyed exploring our “railway station” and its interactive exhibits. In response to their rave reviews, the “All Change!” exhibition will now run to 6th October. It’s open 4 days a week and it’s FREE ! For details please visit the museum’s website.
